This ethereal being. Zuzu is an incredibly talented musician and we got together to shoot some nature-inspired promo shots for her album - This girl is going to be HUGE! I highly recommend listening to her music HERE while scrolling through these images.
Honestly, it was so difficult to capture the feeling of her music, because her genre is so hard to describe. It's just so dang unique. Her music is absolutely bone-chilling. Soul-chilling. Blood-chilling. Spine-chilling. Basically it will give you ALL THE CHILLS!
On a whim, we decided to check out Belknap Park in Grand Rapids as neither of us had shot there before. And lo and behold, we found AMAZING spots to have her pose around. I rarely shoot in the middle of the day, so I was a little nervous with the light, but these images turned out better than I could have ever imagined!
Zuzu, being the industrious, creative, nature lady she is, immediately started fashioning a crown out of dandelions. Unfortunately, all of the whisps blew away during the making, but it made for a unique (and organic) collar necklace. Locally-sourced. 100% all-natural. 😂
We found a small forest alcove that had the moodiest lighting. Zuzu put on her silk green shirt which was our mom's old pajama top (SURPRISE! Zuzu and I are sisters). I have one as well which I used as my blanket growing up. Dotted with a celestial sun, moon, and star pattern, these shirts have a special place in my heart. Maybe I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Or just 90's pj fashion.
